Tyson Fury’s Comeback Opponent Down To Three Names

Tyson Fury Sets 2018 Record

Comeback season is in the air for former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury who returns to the ring on June 9th in Manchester with all attention now turning to who it will be.

Fury was busy in recent months behind the scenes in securing a new promoter, which eventually was announced as Frank Warren.

However rival promoter Eddie Hearn divulged some information recently regarding his own interactions with Fury.

Speaking to IFL Hearn mentioned that Fury wanted four easy opponents before getting the fight with Anthony Joshua in 2019.

Well, if that is to believed, don’t expect the comeback opponent to be a world beater on June 9th.

In fairness though, he won’t have fought in two and a half years – so most would not expect his first fight back to be against anyone relatively dangerous.

The odds are now starting to roll out across most sports book lines for who it will be and after looking at them all this morning, there are two names now in the running according to most:

Dominic Breazeale and Alexander Ustinov.

Both relatively credible opponents for a comeback to the ring to be fair.

American Shannon Briggs was thought to be in the running potentially too up until recently.

Don’t discount him as a possible outsider to land the fight on June 9th.

A Fury vs Briggs build-up would certainly bring a lot of personality and hype to proceedings, that’s for sure.
