World Title Rematch: DeGale vs Truax 2 Prediction

Peter Wells is back this week to make his James DeGale vs Truax 2 prediction ahead of this weekend’s bout in Las Vegas after what was one of the upsets of the year in boxing in 2017.

Truax shocked pretty much everyone last year with his win over DeGale, it’s safe to say.

Now the Englishman is gunning for him to get his title back. Back to back losses would be catastrophic for ‘Chunky’ at this stage of his career.

James DeGale must reclaim not only his IBF Super Middleweight belt, but essentially also his career when he meets Caleb Truax in an immediate rematch this weekend.

DeGale 23-2-1(14KO’s) was poor in losing to Truax on home soil last December, but it was a defeat that has been long coming.

His reflexes have slowed up over the years, and spending too much time on the ropes invited Truax to take an opportunity he never expected to see come his way.

Truax 29-3-2(18KO’s) will be bursting full of confidence, but one feels it was a one-off performance as opposed to the American having DeGale’s number.

A smarter display this time around from DeGale, should see the Londoner retain his belt, but it won’t be easy.

Truax can cause James all sorts of problems in the fights second half, but after 12 rounds it will be the former champion returning home with his silverware.
