Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn is upping his verbal war with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and his management team who advise him.

Hearn has told the public this week that an offer was tabled to Wilder and that he had reached out to his team again, although earlier on, claimed he has heard nothing back as of yet.

An unusual sign apparently between Hearn and one of Wilder’s managers who make fights together regularly, according to Hearn.

Wilder had been expected to appear ringside this weekend at the Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker fight in Wales but according to Hearn Wilder and his team wanted the whole process scripted which Anthony Joshua did not.

He told Kugan Cassius of IFL TV:

“There’s only one person crying. (In a crying voice mimicking Wilder) ‘Oh I can’t get in the ring – I’m not coming! If I don’t great in the ring I am not coming!’ Who’s a cry baby now? The difference is you can get in the ring – but we’re not scripting it. This is about Joshua vs Parker, this isn’t about Deontay Wilder.”

He continued:

“After the fight if Joshua wants you to invite you into the ring, which by the way he would, no problem. But it’s not like when the fight is over, you jump in – you go up to him. This fight isn’t about you Deontay Wilder. This fight is about Joshua vs Parker.”

He finished on the subject by saying:

“You (Wilder) ain’t signed a contract yet. Once you sign a contract – that’s when the fun and games begin.”

It almost feels like Wilder is going to be at the fight on Saturday and surprise everyone with a three-way melee in the ring between him, the winner of Joshua vs Parker and Tyson Fury to boot.

It wouldn’t surprise me in boxing if they were planning some crazy stunt like that behind the scenes.
