Deontay Wilder Responds To Whyte Call Out By Trolling Him

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has been tabbed to potentially fight Dillian Whyte next as both men angle for a shot at Anthony Joshua later in the year.

Following the recent stoppage win of Wilder over tricky Cuban Luis Ortiz, the WBC champion from Alabama petitioned publicly, as he has done for over a year now – for a long-awaited showdown with Joshua.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn believes the fight doesn’t happen until late 2018 however, and has tabled an offer of approximately $3 million for Deontay Wilder – plus US TV revenue which could be worth upwards of $1 million.

Making the total offer to Wilder to be in the region of $4 million which, Hearn claims, would be a career record payday for the American to date.

Following Dillian Whyte’s annihilation of Australian heavyweight Lucas Browne on Saturday Whyte also made it a point to call out Wilder afterwards.

Asking him for the showdown this coming June as Joshua will not be ready in time for the summer, he said.

It’s not the first time that Wilder and Whyte, or Hearn for that matter, have gone at one another in the media.

A lot could happen depending on the outcome of this weekend’s heavyweight unification between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker.

It was thought that for a potential Wilder vs Joshua fight to happen that a deal might need to factor in Wilder fighting Whyte first as part of it, but all bets are off of course if Joseph Parker upsets Joshua on Saturday.

Either way, a loss should not be the end of the world.

Fans simply want to see all these guys in the ring with one another.

What harm if some unbeaten records go in the process.

If they are good fights, which most of them will be – rematches between some of the above can always be made.
