Bellew Honest About His Chances Against Andre Ward

Andre Ward Responds To Tony Bellew

Tony Bellew currently finds himself preparing for a rematch with David Haye but potentially massive fights are also around the corner for him if he comes through it.

Liverpool heavyweight Bellew won the first fight nearly a year ago in one of the biggest upsets of the year when he stopped former heavyweight champion Dvid Haye inside the distance.

The two rematch on May 5th t the O2 Arena in London with a lot to play for the winner.

Bellew has been linked with a number of fights this year already.

Including one with Tyson Fury.

But another bout across the water has come out of left field in the form of retired pound for pound star Andre Ward.

It is thought Ward could be thinking of coming back to the sport and looking at Bellew as an option.

Speaking in his latest column on The Metro (via Boxing Scene), Bellew said of a Ward fight:

“I need to be on the money. Not very optimistic, you say? No, I’m just realistic. I’m not a fantasist. He’s better than me. But, if I get the tactics right on the night then I beat him. I will win if he has an off night.”

Bellew must first deal with the considerable challenge of David Haye on May 5th, mind you.

A Haye who heavyweight rival Tyson Fury predicted recently at a speaking event that will beat Bellew this time in the rematch.
