Eddie Hearn’s New Nickname For Wilder’s Manager Is Growing Legs

Eddie Hearn Makes

WBC heavyweight champion Deonty Wilder has three mangers guiding his career but one of them in particular is gaining some flack from fellow heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua’s promoter – Eddie Hearn.

Joshua fights at the end of this month in a unification showdown with WBO champion Joseph Parker but should he win, calls for a massive cross Atlantic battle between him and Deontay Wilder are being made from fans on both sides of the pond.

Last week I spoke to one of Wilder’s managers and Hall of Famer Shelly Finkel.

When I asked Shelly did he think the bout could be bigger than the last large heavyweight fight between heavyweights on either side of the pond, between Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson, he told me thinks it can be based on social media in today’s times versus the lack of it back when Tyson and Lewis fought.

Eddie Hearn has started calling Finkle ‘Shirley Winkel’ in pretty much every interview he is doing at the moment.

Seemingly incensed by an email Finkel produced a couple of weeks ago after Wilder’s latest victory, pointing to the lack of communication received from Hearn in recent months over trying to make the fight.

Hearn slammed the move as a ‘b**** move’ and although laughed it off and pointed to him not needing to make the fight with Finkel and instead with Wilder’s other managers, you could tell it rattled him a bit.

Hearn, an expert man of using the media, as happy-go-lucky as he may come across in the media, definitely doesn’t enjoy being told he is wrong one gets the impression.

Hopefully politics will be put aside over the coming months to make what would be a wonderful fight for the sport.

But first thing is first though, Joshua has an extremely tough assignment in Parker to get through on March 31st.
