Joseph Parker Reacts To Deontay Wilder Victory Over Ortiz

WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker gives his verdict to what he saw from WBC champion Deontay Wilder this past weekend in New York.

Wilder won by 10th round this past weekend at the Barclays Center in New York.

In a fight that rated well on Showtime afterwards, the Alabama man definitely has some momentum going into whatever is next.

That next fight many are calling for is with IBF and WBA champion Anthony Joshua (20-0-20KO).

However some seem to be writing off his unification opponent WBO champion Joseph Parker completely from their next fight.

The two will square off at the end of the month in Cardiff on March 31st.

Speaking to IFL TV Parker have his reaction to what he saw from Wilder this past weekend:

“I think it wasn’t one of his best performance in terms of keeping busy. When he fought Stiverne there was a snappy jab. It was nice and snappy. Subtle. Strong. I think he was cautious for a reason but he came back and got the job done (against Ortiz). So big ups to him. He answered a lot of questions.”

He added:

“He showed the heart of a champion to comeback and he’s dangerous the whole time. That big right hand can change a lot of things for him.”

No doubt Parker will be looking to put a spanner in the works of all the Joshua vs Wilder hype going around at the moment.

Parker currently holds a professional record at this time of 24-0-18KO.

Between all three of the recognised heavyweight champions Parker, Joshua and Wilder they are all unbeaten with a combined total of 84 professional wins and 77 knockouts.
