Deontay Wilder’s Manager Exposes Joshua Promoter’s Email About Making Fight

Deontay Wilder Manager Shelly Finkel Gives His Full Side Of What Happened In Joshua vs Wilder Talks

Deontay Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel pulled no punches with promoter of Anthony Joshua, Eddie Hearn, following Wilder’s win last night over Luis Ortiz.

Wilder defended his WBC heavyweight title in sensational fashion with a 10th round knockout that has got people calling for the fight with Anthony Joshua.

This happened against last November but after last night’s big win over Luis Ortiz, a man expected to be the toughest test of Wilder’s career to date, the Joshua fight has now gotten that much bigger.

Speaking at the post-fight press conference Shelly Finkel said of the fight negotiations:

“He said at the meeting: ‘I think we could do bigger business in Las Vegas, because I can bring over 20,000 Brits who can spend more money just like they did for Ricky Hatton. I said: ‘Fine. Put the numbers together, we’re ready to make a deal.’ I got a letter, and I’ll quote it from Eddie: ‘Glad you had a good chinwag with the old man,’ you know that’s from him, that’s not the language we speak here!”

He added:

“‘I will get the respective sales profit-loss this week to you for discussion,’ meaning what we would make in the UK and what we’d make in Vegas. ‘All the best, Eddie.’ I have never heard from him since.”

Well, there you have it.

It would appear the value of Deontay Wilder has gone up since last night.

As well as the demand for the fight. On both sides of the pond.

Joshua must first come through WBO champion Joseph Parker on March 31st but after that – it’s up to the promoters to get this fight on.

Once and for all.
