Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz Manager Rip Into One Another

Wilder vs Ortiz TV Ratings

Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz showdown on March 3rd for the WBC heavyweight world title and ahead of the bout they have traded blows verbally – and then some.

On an international phone call Wilder and Ortiz’s manager spoke in a war of words with all the journalists on the call listening in.

Wilder genuinely seems to dislike Ortiz after he made him wait on a fight with him last year.

This happened after Cuban challenger Ortiz pulled out of their original date due to a suspension from a doping test.

This suspension was subsequently lifted.

The two saw one another at ringside after Deontay Wilder’s last fight where he beat Bermane Stiverne in a brutal knockout in a rematch.

The genuine hatred has been building steadily in the weeks and months since.

This phone call (hat tip Fight Hype YouTube) illustrates as much with Ortiz’s manager as passionate as he was:

At one point you can Ortiz’ representatives asking Wilder to answer a question, to which Wilder was clearly incensed by and replied:

“I’ll knock your a** out too!”

This fight has been coming a long, long time to be fair.

Some have suggested that Ortiz’ technical boxing ability could present a number of problems for the perceived more unpolished Wilder.

But Wilder’s power and raw athleticism makes him a big favourite going into the fight with most bookmakers.

The pair will fight on March 3rd at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
