Bob Arum Names The One Fighter He’d Love To Promote

Bob Arum's Top Rank Confirm Huge Extension Deal With ESPN

Hall of Fame boxing promoter Bob Arum has a fairly strong stable at the moment with his company Top Rank, but there’s one fighter in particular he’d love to promote that he doesn’t have.

Arum has promoted many legends of the sport through the years from Ali, Hagler and in more recent years Manny Pacquiao.

He’s been in the boxing business for a crazy half a century at this point and has seen fighters come and go from all corners of the world.

In a recent public Q and A session on Reddit, the question was posed to him by one fan:

If you could have one fighter from any other promoter’s stable to add to the Top Rank collection, who would it be?

To which he replied:

“Anthony Joshua. I think Joshua has the ability to be a major star. He is a very articulate young man. He showed a tremendous amount of courage and guts when he fought Klitschko, who had him out, and he got up and knocked Klitschko out. I think he’s the real deal. I don’t know if he beats my guy Joseph Parker, but if he does, that’s the guy I’d love to have as part of the Top Rank team.”

Recent reports suggested that Anthony Joshua’s current promotional agreement with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Sport is up later this year.

There has been nothing to suggest that he will not renew it but at the same time, it will be interesting to see if any other promoters attempt to swoop for his services if it does let it elapse.

The ball is firmly in the court of Anthony Joshua.
