Ortiz Reveals What He Said To Deontay Wilder In Ringside Confrontation

March 3rd’s WBC heavyweight title fight between champion Deontay Wilder and Cuban challenger Luis Ortiz is just around the corner and the war or words is in full flow.

Wilder really hates Ortiz behind the scenes.

He’s spoken about how he felt last year when Ortiz made him wait and wait because of a previously failed doping test.

Now that’s out-of-the-way though – he’ll have his chance to exact revenge.

After Wilder’s last fight against Bermane Stiverne Ortiz even approached Wilder straight after the fight ringside and managed to get off some jibes.

It was not known what he exactly said at the time – until now. Boxing News and Views were advised that Ortiz said:

“Someone told me Wilder was in the crowd, I smiled. I was glad to see him. I knew what he wanted.”

He added:

“I’m not the kind that likes to trash talk, but I’ve had it with this guy. He talks too much. He has a big mouth. He has insulted me and has said too many dumb things. So when I saw him ringside I told him to get inside the ring and to tell the world once and for all that he was going to fight me. He says he wants to fight the top fighters. I’m a top fighter. Let’s do it.”

The fight will take place on March 3rd at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
