Mike Tyson Reacts To Wilder Comment About Beating Him In His Prime

Tyson Reacts To Wilder

“Iron” Mike Tyson has finally had a chance to respond to comments from WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder who said recently that he would have beaten a prime Mike Tyson.

Wilder’s opinion that he would have beaten a 1986 Mike Tyson in his prime drew considerable criticism from the boxing world.

Heavyweight boxing champions like Lennox Lewis and Frank Bruno jumped to their past foe’s defence and checked Wilder on the comments.

Tyson acknowledged Lewis’ support today:

On the comments from Wilder and the WBC champion in general, Mike Tyson said on his new podcast that:

“He (Deontay Wilder) talks so much. He talks so much s***.”

On trying to compare fighters of today to the past, Tyson said it is a futile exercise:

“Boxing has changed so much today. Now everybody is bigger. Before everybody is smaller.”

Mike Tyson still holds the record today for being the youngest heavyweight champion of the world at 20 years old and four months.

Deontay Wilder is currently preparing for his next fight on March 3rd against Cuban Luis Ortiz.

The fight will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
