Anthony Joshua: I'm Not A F****** Promoter

Heavyewight champion of the world Anthony Joshua continues to come out of his shell and speak his mind more and more, unfiltered – without the media training.

This will no doubt win him over more fans, in the transparent, millennial driven-age we now live in where more and more home truths seem to be revealed because of the wider internet as a whole.

People just seem to be speaking their mind more these days.

When making reference to a wall of fame for well-known promoters, Kugan Cassius asked Joshua where his name on the wall was.

To which the Watford man replied:

“I’m not a f***** promoter!”

Technically he is though. Well, in a small way.

He co-promoted a show this weekend at the 02 Arena in London where he had two boxers that he also manages fighting on the card, where it was though Joshua’s company and Joshua’s current promoter Eddie Hearn’s company went 50-50 on the event, in terms of promotional rights.

Joshua has plenty of fighting to worry about over the coming years before getting too stuck into the promotional game mind you, a relentless unforgiving game in itself.

How he manages to balance things thus far has been very impressive.

By all accounts Joshua seems to have a head for business, so who knows – perhaps in years to come we might see him involved in staging more and more big events.

It’s a bit of a trend at the moment among well-known names in combat sports.

UFC star Conor McGregor also recently formed his own promotional company which was involved in the boxing match he had with Floyd Mayweather last August.
