Bellew Sums Anthony Joshua Up In 7 Word Comparison To Mike Tyson

While this comparison is no doubt a little early in the eyes of some, Tony Bellew’s ability to break Anthony Joshua down in just seven words with it certainly will get people thinking.

Mike Tyson became the the youngest heavyweight champion in history, something Joshua will never be able to do – but the Englishman is building his own legacy at the moment in boxing – in a very different time to how Tyson did.

Speaking in his column on The Metro, Tony Bellew said of the two:

“He’s 2018’s Mike Tyson – without the controversy.”

While comparisons to Mike Tyson are obviously premature at this stage, it is an interesting statement from Bellew.

Anthony Joshua up until now has been pretty much squeaky clean, never putting a foot wrong in terms of his public image and brand perception with some of the massive sponsors he works with.

He did slightly move back a step from this clean cut image towards the end of 2017 however.

Notably with some social media blasts against fellow heavyweight Tyson Fury.

But at the end of the day, he’s a young man and is going to mess up every now and then. That’s part of being a human being, ultimately.

The question is when he does – how he will be bounce back and what will he do next?

Mike Tyson ultimately made a career for himself outside of boxing when he retired but certainly, as per Bellew, Joshua comes across as an together different character.
