Frank Warren Offered Amir Khan A Comeback Opponent

Frank Warren Offered Amir Khan

Amir Khan comeback confirmed for April 21st as the race heats up from fighters who want to be the famed boxer’s first opponent in the ring in over two years.

Amir Khan is a big name in world boxing – no doubt about it. His social media following testament to that.

But that been said, he’s not fought in a long time and his new promoter Eddie Hearn is not just going to throw him in at the deep end and hope if he can still swim.

A sensible opponent who is somewhat known to the public that presents a challenge will likely be lined up.

Before announcing his new three-fight deal with Hearn it turns out there were a number of promoters interested in his services – including Frank Warren.

Speaking to ESPN, the legendary promoter said:

“I offered him to fight Bradley Skeete, and he didn’t come back.”

He added:

“He got badly knocked out in his last fight and people have lost interest. I know he’s been in the jungle but that’s not fighting.”

Chris Van Heerden has been one name mentioned as a possible opponent for Khan with an announcement expected in the coming two weeks before he starts full training camp again.

Khan will still have his usual trainer in his corner upon his return it is understood. American boxing coach Virgil Hunter.
