Confirmed: Oscar Valdez vs Scott Quigg For WBO Featherweight Title

Oscar Valdez vs Scott Quigg has been formally confirmed in an interesting clash for the WBO featherweight championship of the world.

Unbeaten Mexican world champion Oscar Valdez will put his titles on the lines against Englishman Scott Quigg on March 10th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

A fight briefly mooted during the week appeared to reach a rapid conclusion in negotiations relatively quickly to be fair.

Valdez has looked untouchable thus far in his 23-0-19KO career and has steam rolled most opposition put in front of him to date.

He holds admirable wins over credible opposition including the likes of Evgeny Gradovich, Chris Avalos, Hiroshige Osawa and Miguel Marriaga.

Quigg (34-1-2-25KO) will represent perhaps the best opponent of his career however.

The Englishman has looked a fighter rejuvenated since linking up with Freddie Roach following the sole defeat of his career to Carl Frampton at super-bantamweight in February 2016.

Both guys have explosive styles when they want to let their hands go so this could be very interesting in spurts.

Depending on what type of game plan either guy goes for on the night.

Expect Quigg to come into the fight in incredible shape.

A renowned clean liver and relentless trainer, he’ll be looking at this title shot as an opportunity to wipe the slate clean of that painful loss to Frampton in 2016.
