Initial Terms Agreed For Terence Crawford vs Jeff Horn Fight

A world title fight between Terence Crawford vs Jeff Horn looks very likely next up for both men as the main parts of the deal have now been agreed.

Crawford, who cleaned up junior-welterweight last year, now finds himself in the welterweight division and has straight away positioned himself for an immediate title shot.

He was the WBO champion at 140lbs and the organisation have made him mandatory challenger for Australian Jeff Horn, who captured the belt from boxing icon Manny Pacquiao last year in a big upset in Australia.

Well, negotiations look to be going quite well. As the main bits of the deal have now been agreed according to Horn’s trainer Glenn Rushton who told the AAP that:

“As far as we’re concerned, it’s pretty much a deal.”

It is not done officially just yet of course, but the heads of terms so to speak have been agreed upon, which usually means to proceed to contract rather soon – where drafting and signing might be expected over the coming weeks.

As a fight itself, it gives Crawford a big foot in the door at 147lbs if he can win it.

Although if he wins the champions and main stars at the weight are all signed with Al Haymon – who Crawford’s promoter traditionally has not worked with.

First things first though.
