Joshua vs Parker Negotiations Now At Final Contract Drafting Stage

The now famous Anthony Joshua vs Parker negotiations that seem to have gone on an eternity – are coming over the final stages and closing line as we speak.

Boxing negotiations might as well be public these days in the world of social media. Relentless fans hungry for fights and latest news demand the big fights now – and rightly so.

After all, it’s the fans that drive any sport.

The initial sticking point of the purse split between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker is a distant memory of the past.

Now it’s onto contract stage with the lawyers. Always a good sign.

Speaking today at the Amir Khan – Matchroom Sport announcement, promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports News on television that things are nearly there with Joshua vs Parker:

“David Higgins arrived yesterday morning. He was a bit tired but we managed to get about four hours out of him. Drafting contracts (now) but its a very complicated process.

He added:

“Another re-drafting today with another meeting after here today with David again and our lawyers. We hope we’ll see Joseph Parker in town at the end of this week and arehopeful of an announcement next week.”

He concluded:

“We’re close now. We’re close. Fingers crossed.”

The feeling seems to be that everyone wants the fight so it would be pretty surprising if this thing doesn’t get over the line.
