Fury Given Deadline To Schedule Fight Or Risk Being Stripped Of Belt

Tyson Fury 30th birthday

Tyson Fury despite not boxing in over two years currently still holds the Ring Magazine heavyweight title. A prestigious belt by that dates back in history.

Indeed, it’s a belt that Fury proudly holds and often refers to himself as the man who beat the man last (the lineal champion) to get – when he dethroned Wladimir Klitschko back in November 2015.

A monumental achievement indeed. But everything has an expiration point, ultimately.

Ring Magazine chief Dougie Fischer has referenced in his latest column that Fury must now schedule a fight very soon as the magazine cannot go into the month of February without knowing who the lineal heavyweight champion of the world will box next.

This seems to be a fair time frame really.

Fury has already now got his issues with UKAD out-of-the-way and is in the process sometime this month of formally applying for his British Boxing Board of Control license to box again.

That should not be too much of an issue provided he has shown enough in his training and improvement in fitness to box, and mind state to date, to satisfy the board to allow him to professionally box again.

Scheduling a fight can surely also be done this month in that same time frame. One would hope at least.
