The 2018 heavyweight landscape has many possibilities to look forward to this year, including unification bouts, the return of Tyson Fury and more.

If last year was the year where the division was really blown wide open once again, this year could prove to be the formative period where a potential unified champion could emerge from the pack.

The four main names at the top being Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, Joseph Parker and Tyson Fury.

But just below that you have the likes of Hughie Fury, Alexander Povetkin, Luis Ortiz, Tony Bellew, David Haye, Dillian Whyte and Jarrell Miller – to name just a few.

Current WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is bullish about the year ahead however. Speaking to Kevin Iole YouTube he said:

“I want them all. I’ve been wanting them. I’ve been calling out the best since the start of my career but I had bad luck coming up. But there is just a certainness about me now. It just comes to that point of time where you learn the ropes, you learn so many things, you’ve been through so many trials.”

He continued:

“I want to clean out the whole division of the heavyweight division. I don’t want no man to go in this division who is one of the best and not fought me. That’s my mission. To swipe, to clean, to slay the heavyweight division.” 

He added:

“I love proving people wrong.”

It is expected that Wilder will fight Cuban Luis Ortiz next up in March or April possibly around the same time that Anthony Joshua is expected to fight Joseph Parker.
