The instant live Daniel Jacobs reaction to watching Billy Joe Saunders score a unanimous points win over David Lemieux in Canada.

An argument surely can be made that Danny Jacobs is one of the very best middleweights in world boxing today.

Despite losing a decision to Golovkin earlier in 2017, he gave “GGG” the hardest fight of his career and in some people’s view might have deserved to have got the decision.

He bounced back in recent months with a low-key win in New York but is now eyeing the big names at middleweight again in 2018.

Billy Joe Saunders as WBO middleweight champion is obviously on that radar – and here is how Jacobs rated his performance over David Lemieux live last night after the decision was announced (hat tip Fight Hype YouTube):

A call out from Jacobs will likely be met with some sort of retort from Saunders when he sees the video – but what an interesting fight it could be.

The winner of a potential fight would no doubt be in line for a crack at the winner of the expected Golovkin vs Canelo rematch next year, one would have thought.

Although there is a problem with this happening.

Both Jacobs and Saunders are signed to rival promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren who never work together on making fights.

So it might not be a realistic option, in truth.
