Report: Incredible Claim States Rigondeaux Did NOT Break His Hand vs Lomachenko

Rigondeaux Did NOT Break His Hand

A well known combats sports journalist has broken a story claiming that Guillermo Rigondeaux did not in fact suffer injury like he said he did.

Last weekend the Cuban boxer cited a broken hand to his left hand as the reason he did not continue to fight Vasyl Lomachenko past six rounds.

He was widely criticised on the night and since, but no details were forthcoming as of yet about the details of the injury.

Until now that is.

Dan Rafael of ESPN has reported that Rigondeaux’s promoter RocNation informed him that there was:

“No break, but severe contusion on left hand.”

This will no doubt annoy fans even more after what was hoped to be one of the best clashes of two technical fighters in years in boxing last weekend.

Rigondeaux posses an outstanding resume as an amateur and pro, having won double Olympic Gold as an amateur and became a world champion as a professional – however this bit of news could tarnish his legacy in boxing a bit.

Lomachenko for his part now moves on to pound for pound number one status and will seek a challenge perhaps at a higher weight class moving forward – due to lack of competition in and around his current weight class.
