What Rigondeaux Wants People To Remember Before Lomachenko Fight

Rigondeaux wants fans of the sport of boxing and the public at large to remember something before he steps in the ring with Lomachenko.

A lifetime of work, sacrifice and dedication will come to a head this Saturday for the man known as “El Chacal”.

In many ways it’s the biggest fight of his life, his pro career at least.

But Guillermo Rigondeaux has been here before.

Four years ago when no one gave him a chance going into a fight with then pound for pound star and fighter of the year Nonito Donaire.

Fast forward to this Saturday night and Rigondeaux steps in the ring with a man many consider to be the best fighter walking the other today, regardless of any weight class, and he’s going up two weight divisions to do so.

But before he does, he wants fans and the public to remember this (speaking on his Twitter account):

He’s right. Bloody hell, he’s just right.

In many ways this Saturday is a throwback when the best regularly fought the best. A fight that will pit arguably the two most skilled boxers in the world today against one another.

Enjoy it while it’s here.
