Paulie Malignaggi disregards how Miguel Cotto’s final fight was scored for punch stats by statistics organization Compubox.
When it comes to punch stats in professional boxing, Compubox has long been the standard bearer for keeping count of the stats in big title and TV fights in the US.
An organisation that prides itself on keeping track of exact punch tallies in real time, round by round.
However former world champion Paulie Malignaggi has been critical of their scoring this past weekend in the Miguel Cotto vs Sadam Ali fight in Madison Square Garden.
In response to one fan, Malignaggi had this to say on their scoring:
Stop listening to Compubox stats bro Cotto did not Outland Ali watch the fight instead of listening to the guy pressing buttons. That Stat is just as subjective as u counting punches landed it’s all human subjectiveness and is very prone to human error. https://t.co/xo52aRIZz2

Following the fight at the weekend, here is what Compubox had to say:
