Tony Bellew Makes Brutal Claim About What Keeps Him Sane

Tony Bellew Is Spot On With Take On Rocky Fielding's World Title Win

Tony Bellew makes a statement that perhaps only a fighter could understand. Speaking after the David Haye postponement.

Tony Bellew has had a roller coaster year it’s fair to say.

Upsetting the odds and shocking the world last March kicked things off when he stopped David Haye inside the distance in a heavyweight bout.

The Liverpool man has gradually shot to fame worldwide these past couple of years not just because of the Haye fight, but also a Hollywood role in the last Rocky movie.

But it’s been a tough end of 2017 for him with the death of his wife’s brother to deal with firstly.

Then finding out while after training for a month for the Haye rematch that it was off for the time being due to a bicep injury to Haye.

Speaking on Talk Sport, Bellew was brutally honest about what he needs to keep him sane:

“When I’m training I’m happy. I’ve had a disaster of a year so far with my brother-in-law. I’m just trying to get through the day-to-day at the minute. It’s still very hard but I’m doing alright. Do you know what the one thing that keeps me sane, and I know this sounds mad, is when I’m punching people in the face. So I need to do that a few more times and we’ll just see where it leads.”

The Haye vs Bellew rematch is currently being rescheduled with a date for 2018 expected to be confirmed soon.
