Tony Bellew responds to Tyson Fury calling him out after previous opponent David Haye was forced to pull out due to injury.

Tyson Fury put his name in the mix for Bellew’s next opponent in the new year following David Haye withdrawing from the pair’s rematch next month.

Fury has not fought in over two years to date but has been shown back in training in recent weeks and starting to discover his timing again.

Speaking on being called out by Fury on Talk Sport, Bellew replied today by saying:

“The world wants to fight me. It’s me against the world. Everyone wants to fight me. It’s funny isn’t it –because just a couple of years ago no one wanted to fight me. I was stigmatised, I was laughed at after the Cleverly II fight. No one wanted to fight me. Now I’ve got every man and his dog wanting to fight me. Listen, we’re talking about the man (Tyson Fury) who holds the Ring Magazine heavyweight championship of the world. I’m going to sit down with Eddie (Hearn).”

Fury would experience a significant height and weight advantage in such a fight.

Bellew’s only venture into the heavyweight division as a pro to date was his last outing against David Haye back in March.

As of this time no definitive date has been scheduled for the Bellew vs Haye rematch in 2018.
