Tony Bellew confused at the World Boxing Association’s actions in 2017 after beating David Haye inside the distance in March.

Bellew stopped David Haye against all the odds that night at the O2 Arena in London and has since landed another fight with his UK boxing rival that will take place next month on December 17th at the same venue.

This time around there seems to have been a lot less verbal wars in the media, with Haye and Bellew no doubt both hidden away training ferociously for the bout.

For Haye, a second loss back to back to Bellew would likely end his ambitions of ever challenging for a heavyweight title again.

So perhaps more pressure will be on him second time round.

Bellew is adamant that the fight was not a one off however and has been vocal in particular at one governing body in world boxing since he beat Haye earlier this year.

Speaking in his column on The Metro, Bellew said:

“What is amazing is that Haye was ranked so highly with the WBA and I then beat him — but I can’t get into their rankings.”

Were Bellew to win the rematch no doubt he’d be listed higher in all the rankings of all the governing bodies.

His fight against Haye last time out was the first time he competed at heavyweight as a professional — although he campaigned at the division years ago as an amateur.
