Carl Frampton has a perfect response to those who have criticised his performance in his comeback win this weekend.

The two-weight world champion was made to work hard over the distance but alas ran out a unanimous points winner over Horacio Garcia in Belfast.

It saw Frampton return to winning ways after the first loss of his pro career earlier this year against Leo Santa Cruz.

It also was his first time boxing under new trainer Jamie Moore and promoter Frank Warren.

After the fight, talks suggested that Frampton could box in the spring of 2018 before a summer outdoor event in his hometown.

Or potentially just wait until the summer stadium show.

The Tiger’s Bay man was perhaps overly critical of his performance afterwards in the end. Garcia proved to be a very tough competitor on the night.

One critic on Twitter who suggested Frampton’s fitness and conditioning was under par — drew this reaction to Frampton earlier:

Also fighting on the bill was Jamie Conlan who bravely challenged for a world title but suffered defeat in his bid to capture world honors,

No doubt he’ll come again.

Paddy Barnes and Jono Carroll also recorded  highly impressive wins on the bill.
