Watch: The Moment Jose Ramirez KO’s Mike Reed In Round 2

Jose Ramirez

Jose Ramirez defended his WBC Continental Americas super-lightweight title in some style live on ESPN no less.

Jose Ramirez improved his professional record to 21-0-16KO this weekend with a round 2 KO of Mike Reed in Fresno.

The win sets up a showdown for the WBC junior-welterweight title next up against Amir Imam. A belt that was recently vacated by Terence Crawford who moved up to welterweight.

Both fighters came out relatively aggressive but it was Ramirez who forced the issue and was able to back his opponent up onto the ropes, ultimately closing the show in the 2nd round.

Here’s how it happened:

Also fighting on the show Artur Beterbiev won the vacant IBF light-heavyweight title with a 12th round stoppage over Enrico Koelling, put him on the floor twice in the 12th and final round.

The win improves Beterbiev’s record to 12-0-12KO and could put him in play for some big fights in the new year with the likes of Sergey Kovalev and Adonis Stevenson.
