UFC President and American entrepreneur Dana White confirms he will be entering the sport of boxing with some explosive comments.

White has long proven himself as a successful combat sports promoter in the sport of mixed martial arts with the UFC – that he grew to huge levels with the help of American casino moguls the Fertitta brothers.

White is renowned for his press conference quotes, straight talking and promoting fights and looks set to start promoting professional boxing events in the US sooner than some might think.

Speaking at an event White confirmed the news by saying:

“I am getting into boxing. 100%. I’m getting my s*** together and once I get my s*** together – come see me.”

Touching on the Mayweather-McGregor fight last August, White added:

“At the end of the day my job is to put on fights that people want to see, even if it makes no sense and is stupid. If enough people want to see it, f*** it – I’ll do it! That’s my job at the end of the day.”

The American boxing market looks to be heating up once again with more and more new promoters including White and more recently, the UK’s Eddie Hearn – opening a new leg of his company Matchroom Boxing in the US.

The increased competition surely bodes well for fight fans desperate to see the best fight the best on a regular basis – as more promoters will have to work with one another to make the fights happen.
