Watch: Luis Ortiz Heckles Deontay Wilder Straight After Stiverne Knockout

Luis Ortiz heckles Deontay Wilder from the crowd right after Wilder knocks out Bermane Stiverne to retain title.

Luis Ortiz was originally meant to be the man in the ring with Deontay Wilder this weekend until a recent failed drugs test forced him out of the fight and also a ban from boxing for 12 months (from the WBA – World Boxing Association).

That did not stop Ortiz from turning up at ringside last night however.

He let Wilder know he was there and shouted some verbals at him straight after he scored a 1st round KO over Bermane Stiverne.

While it is not exactly clear what the pair were shouting back and forth at one another, Wilder certainly looked happy for his part with a big smile on his face whilst standing next to a member of his team.

The folks at Fight Hype YouTube (hat tip) caught the moment right here:

Interesting stuff indeed.

Ortiz must now sit out from boxing for the immediate future but one would imagine when he does comeback at some point likely in 2018, that Wilder will still be a man the undefeated Cuban heavyweight will still have in sights.

Wilder for his part is looking to big fights with Anthony Joshua in the new year.
