McGregor Says It Wasn’t Mayweather’s Punches That Cost Him The Fight

McGregor Says

McGregor says it was not been hurt from Floyd Mayweather’s punches that ultimately cost him the fight in Vegas.

A couple of months on from the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor fight at the T-Mobile Arena, Conor McGregor finds himself continually linked with the boxing world.

Call outs from the likes of Paulie Malignaggi persist. As well as from others.

McGregor at a speaking event in Glasgow recently put across his interest in a rematch with Floyd Mayweather and conveyed his disappointment in the American now being retired.

A rematch seems unlikely however given Mayweather’s advanced years and other interests now outside of the sport of boxing.

McGregor for his part his said immediate future will see him return to his usual sport of mixed martial arts in the UFC but speaking on Irish TV show ‘The Late Late Show’ he also went on to say that he was not hurt from Mayweather once in their boxing match:

“In the (Floyd) Mayweather fight it was fatigue. I wasn’t wobbled. I didn’t see stars once.”

The bout ultimately ended in the 10th round from a sustained number of straight right hands from Mayweather that prompted the referee to waive off proceedings.

McGregor as a pro boxer has a record of (0-1), with Mayweather retiring with a record of 50-0 (27KO).
