WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder offered close to $4 million from Whyte’s promoter who has explained that they will improve the offer.

The ongoing Deontay Wilder and Dillian Whyte fight negotiations continue to play out through the press and social media.

Whyte fights this weekend, Wilder the weekend after – with a possible bout building all the time provided both keep winning.

But Wilder and his team appear to want the Anthony Joshua fight first.

Promoter jibes between both men’s handlers have been frequent but the true financial details of what is really going on are starting to come to the forefront now.

It was rumoured recently that Wilder wanted at least $7 million dollars for the fight with Whyte but Whyte’s promoter has cleared up what exactly has been put on the table thus far.

Speaking to Kugan Cassius of IFL TV promoter Eddie Hearn revealed what he thought of Wilder’s $7 million demand:

“I want an 11 inch penis but it’s not going to happen.”

He added:

“Your’re offered 3 million dollars, plus US TV so I don’t know, maybe $4 million dollars (total). People just come back and say – no I wan’t $7 million. Oh I want 7 million. Why? We run a business. I can tell you how much money is in that fight.”

He continued:

“So we’re going to go back. We’re going to improve our offer. It’s certainly not going to be $7 million dollars or anything close. But we’re going to improve our offer to try to make the fight. Stephen Espinoza (head of Showtime Sports) is here this weekend and I am going to talk to him.”

He concluded:

“I think Dillian Whyte beats Deontay Wilder. But we’ll find out – hopefully on February 3rd (2018).”

Wilder fights on November 4th in a rematch against Bermane Stiverne in New York. Dillian Whyte fights this weekend on the Anthony Joshua undercard against Robert Helenius.
