Yunier Dorticos fires shots at IBF cruiserweight world champion Murat Gassiev following his latest win in the WBSS.

The pair will face each other next up following Gassiev’s stoppage win last night over Krzysztof Wlodarczyk.

Already those who are aware of both fighters’ ability realize just how special a fight this could be in the cruiserweight division.

While not households names just yet outside of boxing fans, these two boxers represent the top tier fighting talent alongside a couple of others in the world crusierweight scene.

A division traditionally neglected of publicity over the years.

The World Boxing Super Series however seems to be doing a decent job of drumming up interest in the weight class again.

Quality fights and performance been showcased by the weight classes top tier best combatants contributory factors no doubt.

In the post-fight presser Cuban Yunier Dorticos had some extroverted comments for IBF champion ahead of their fight next year.

“He fought a guy who has a terrific history (Wlodarczyk). He’s done a lot but at the end of the day his opponent tonight was old. Now he’s going to fight someone (in me) who is similar to him. This is the fight that the fans – the world wants to see. I’m going to train very hard. I’m going to prepare extremely intense to put on an explosive performance. Take a good vacation (speaking to Gassiev through a translator) because I want to prepare the right dosage for you of anesthesia and ibuprofen for the next fight (with me) so the pain is less!”
