IBF cruiserweight world champion Murat Gassiev not only retained his world title in some style last night in the World Boxing Super Series quarter final, but progressed forward to the semi-final of the tournament to set up an intriguing showdown with Cuban Yunier Dorticos.

Fighting last night in Newark, New Jersey, unbeaten champion Gassiev improved his record to 25-0-18KO with a stunning stoppage over former champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk.

Ultimately, Gassiev controlled the bout from start to finish with his opponent unable to offer much more than the odd jab while been hunted down over three rounds.
