Deontay Wilder Makes Comparison Of Himself To Mike Tyson

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has outlined a comparison of himself and the youngest heavyweight champion of the world, Mike Tyson.

The era of Mike Tyson in his prime and indeed the Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis era after that in the 1990’s, seems like a lifetime ago now for this writer who grew up watching boxing for the first time as a kid at the time.

Perhaps it’s always going to be the case that the those looking back on years gone by in different sports will reflect more fondly on eras of the past.

Maybe it’s just human nature, as history in itself cannot be judged until some time until after current events have passed.

However current WBC heavyweight champion of the world Deontay Wilder has made a rather interesting comparison to himself and one Mike Tyson.

One that might cause a bit of controversy among some boxing fans:

What do you think, is Wilder the most feared man in boxing since ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson?

Currently the Alabama big hitting world champion is in limbo as to who his next opponent might be in early November.

This is due to his current opponent Luis Ortiz awaiting to see what will happen following a recent positive test for a banned substance administered by VADA ahead of the fight.

As reported by the WBC President on Twitter.

Here is a quick look back at an interview with Mike Tyson in recent years speaking during one of Wilder’s fights, outlining we he moved from HBO to Showtime at one point in his career – as well as speaking about Deontay Wilder:
