Shannon Briggs Calls Deontay Wilder Out Following Ortiz VADA Test

Briggs Calls Deontay Wilder Out

Former heavyweight champion of the world Shannon Briggs calls Deontay Wilder out with the fight against Luis Ortiz in doubt.

The boxing world has been in overdrive today following WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman tweeting that he was confirmed by VADA that Luis Ortiz tested positive for a banned substance as part of the WBC ‘Clean Boxing Program’.

What ensued has been different responses from both Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz’s management team reported fully earlier today on Boxing News and Views.

Now however, another fighter has chimed in with his thoughts on the ongoing debacle.

‘Lets Go Champ’ himself Shannon Briggs sees a potential opportunity to get a crack at the world title currently owned by Wilder if Ortiz does not box him.

Speaking on Instagram, Briggs said:

“#BeyonceWilder since #LuisOrtiz is out if you ask Al to push it back a month I’ll be glad oblique you wit’a perfectly placed #Brooklyn beatdown… down to your shoes & church socks #LETSGOCHAMP #LETSGOCHAMP#LETSGOCHAMP”

He followed this up with a typically Shannon Briggs style video:

One month’s notice is likely a deal breaker however for such a call out to have any success, as the card has at least three other big fights on it so getting all of those fighters to agree to a push back in fight date realistically would not happen.
