Kubrat Pulev with a rather strange statement on how he feels about challenging Anthony Joshua for the heavyweight championship of the world.

Pulev is a fairly experienced operator but that being said, everyone is prone to pre-fight nerves and jitters in some regard, surely?

While English may not be his first language the translation of one of the answers to his questions was verified as being correct – to the slight amusement of those in attendance this week.

If anything, his candidness has to be applauded.

Just imagine stepping in there with someone like Anthony Joshua who has knocked out every single heavyweight in his professional career.

It’s not for the faint hearts. Pulev replied honestly at the pre-fight press conference as to how he feels about the match up:

“I feel great, but I know the fight will be terrifying, but I feel energised and ready.”

You wouldn’t have known that by the stare downs, mind you. Neither man batted so much as an eyelid as the stared into each other’s souls in front of the cameras.

Mind games don’t seem like they’ll feature much in this fight’s build up as both guys like to get in there and do their talking in the ring.
