A new Carl Frampton trainer has now been chosen by the two-weight world champion following recently splitting from Cyclone Promotions.

Recently Belfast fighting sensation Carl Frampton announced a split from his long-term mentor in his professional boxing career Barry McGuigan (and his family’s promotional company Cyclone) following Frampton wanting to pursue new goals and further his career.

It was not initially known if McGuigan’s son Shane would be retained by Frampton as head coach but a few days after the announcement Frampton confirmed a complete professional split from all the McGuigans, wishing them the best for the future.

The new Carl Frampton trainer was announced today as Manchester’s Jamie Moore on social media by Frampton:

Jamie in recent years was involved in an unlucky incident where he was shot by mistaken identity, of which he has now made a full recovery from:

Carl Frampton last boxed in January of this year and suffered his first defeat of his professional career in a rematch with Mexican Leo Santa Cruz.

Subsequently before parting with his former promotional company, Frampton’s latest fight was called off due to a bizarre last minute injury to his opponent who slipped in the shower the night before the fight and was unable to compete due to injury.
