Andre Ward Fired Up About Mayweather vs McGregor

Pound for pound rated Andre Ward fired up about the controversial fight and offered an alternative view different from some in boxing.

While tonight’s event may have come in for a mixed response from those within the sport of boxing, notably Oscar De La Hoya on Twitter yesterday – this is not representative of everyone within the sport.

In fact, one of the best pound for pound best boxers in the world today Andre Ward is all for it and speaking on ESPN he told fans to enjoy it as it’s never been done before.

Ward added:

“First and foremost is I love it. I’m fired up. I don’t get to talk about ruining boxing and being a black eye. Look at the response from the fans, the media. Every fighter on every level is being asked about this event. It’s not a bad thing. It may not be the greatest fight in combat history but it’s a fight, lets see what happens.”

Ward last fought earlier this year with a victory in Las Vegas over Sergey Kovalev in their rematch from last year.

He is currently looking for his next opponent with some rumors recently suggesting that he may even move up in weight if he cannot secure a big fight at light-heavyweight.
