Confirmed: Mayweather vs McGregor Glove Weight Will Be 8 Ounce

The Mayweather vs McGregor glove weight has been decided by the NSAC this morning after a meeting in Las Vegas.

Under normal Nevada State Athletic Commission rules a fight at 155lbs would not be allowed to have combatants wearing gloves outside of 10 ounces in weight.

However, in boxing as can sometimes be the case, rules can be made an exception to and changed.

Both Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor insisted that they both wanted 8 ounce gloves for the contest and it has been revealed that they’ve got their wish:

Apparently there was a special exception made for this one fight, which does on the surface of things appear very odd in indeed.

But then again, when have logic and big time boxing ever gone hand and hand?

There is so much money on the line for all involved in this mega, larger than life combat sports event after all. Who knows how much it could generate?

Some are predicting it to be the first ever billion dollar fight in combat sports history.

Now that the Mayweather vs McGregor glove weight has been established, both sides will likely think they will have a better chance of scoring the stoppage.

Floyd Mayweather is surrounded by some smart people, make no mistake about it – if they thought his hands were top brittle for this glove weight even for a second they would have in no way pushed for it.

Mayweather’s hands must be in good shape. Expect him to take McGregor out inside 12 rounds following this announcement.
