Floyd Mayweather Sr on how his son Floyd Mayweather Jr is looking ahead of McGregor fight and what he predicts on August 26th.
There is a little under three weeks to go (as of the time of this article) to a combat sports event that seems to have transcended both MMA and boxing like no other fight in history.
Hate it or love it, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will in fact compete in a licensed professional boxing match on August 26th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The man who will be in Mayweather’s corner, his father, has come full circle with his son at this point.

That’s who Mayweather started out with as a coach when he first laced up his gloves as a child, and that’s who he’ll finish his career with after August 26th.
Speaking to Fight Hype, Mayweather Sr has sent out a warning to Irishman Conor McGregor that he will meet a very sharp version of his son come fight night – despite his age:
“McGregor going to get what he’s got coming. Just even when I see Floyd even at 40 years old, I saw him the other day fighting this young white boy and man, Floyd was hitting him from every different angle and I just don’t think that Conor McGregor can hang up on all that. If Floyd lets his hands go – ain’t no problem.”
As the remaining weeks become days leading up to the reality of fight night, perhaps the sizeable task that the Irishman has taken on will finally set in and begin to dawn on him.
Then again, it might not.
But either way, when that first bell goes and the fight begins to take shape, it will become evident to the courageous Irishman then, like a certain James Toney tried his hand at MMA against Randy Couture, Conor McGregor will learn a similar harsh reality like Toney did of what crossing into other sports at the highest level entails – the other way around.
