Hughie Fury Labels Eddie Hearn A ‘Cockroach’ and Joshua ‘Stiff’

WBO heavyweight title challenger Hughie Fury labels promoter Eddie Hearn a ‘cockroach’ today at a press conference in the UK.

Fury will challenge Joseph Parker for the WBO heavyweight title on September 23rd at the Manchester Arena in a meeting of two undefeated heavyweights.

The bout was previously scheduled for this summer but had to be put back temporarily due to injury to Fury.

It is on in a big way now however. At the opening press conference for the fight today in the UK both men displayed mutual respect.

When the topic of team Parker meeting promoter Eddie Hearn came up during their stay in the UK, Hughie was less than impressed:

“They are already going on meetings with what’s his name, Eddie Hearn and arranging fights. I’ll tell you this I would take me completely seriously because I am coming for that belt. To Eddie Hearn, that cockroach, because that’s what you are, you and you’re big stiff fighter (Anthony Joshua). I’m coming for you next. When I get that belt me and Tyson (Fury) is unifying this division together.”

Hughie’s cousin Tyson Fury, the former heavyweight champion, is understood to be in the final stages of his situation with UKAD at the moment ahead of a return to the ring in 2017.

All going well and he gets that out of the way, it is possible a Tyson Fury comeback could happen on the same bill on September 23rd as Hughie Fury and Joseph Parker.
