Motivational Corner Talk Joshua Got That Inspired Comeback vs Klitschko

Anthony Joshua got one serious ear bashing after been knocked down by Klitschko but it ultimately proved to be on the money.

Man management is an important job for any coach.

You can think of even sports outside boxing, where a lot of the times, the very best managers in any field are the ones that have an intrinsic understanding of the athletes or people they work with.

They inherently know what to say at the right time to get the best out of the person receiving instruction.

Rob McCracken from the UK certainly falls into this bracket.

Before training Anthony Joshua to stop Klitschko in the dizzying highs of 90,000 at Wembley, he had actually done the same thing a few years back at the same stadium (in front of 80,000) for his former fighter Carl Froch.

Super-middleweight Froch knocked out George Groves on that night in a bitter grudge match. McCracken behind the scenes was known for helping Froch for many years with his confidence in the ring.

A real motivator who understands the human psyche.

This clip of the motivational talk Joshua received not long after been knocked down by Klitschko a great example of a coach giving his fighter the get up and go – and sense of urgency that was required:

It proved to be a springboard for Joshua when he came out for round 10 and then ultimately in round 11 – when he stopped Klitschko.
