Deontay Wilder Offers A Quick Fix To Parker vs Fury Problem

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder offers this suggestion to the Joseph Parker vs Hughie Fury fight falling out.

Wilder returned to the ring earlier this year with a stoppage win over former football player Gerald Washington. Prior to that he beat Chris Arreola in 2016 but needed extensive surgery following the bout.

Wilder is now physically back to his peak and is on the hunt for opposition.

Criticism has been levelled at the WBC heavyweight champion in the past for not looking to fight the other champions or take the hard fights – but that can’t be levelled at him anymore following this video:

Deontay Wilder offers suggestion to fix Fury vs Parker mess

It is now up to Parker to take him up on the challenge.

Parker holds one of the other major heavyweight title belts (WBO) and a meeting between the two would mark the second unification fight in the division of 2017 so far.

The original plan for Parker was to defend his belt in his home country of New Zealand on May 6th against Fury, but a unification fight with Wilder would likely need him to travel to the States.

As of this time, Parker and Wilder are still on the lookout for opponents so this bout might very well make sense at some point this year.

Although it was reported yesterday that team Fury are looking to have the Parker fight simply postponed due to an injury sustained to Hughie Fury’s back – so this could first take precedence depending on which way team Parker decide to go.
