Why Hughie Fury Believes Klitschko Fight Is Too Soon For Joshua

Hughie Fury believes that Anthony Joshua is taking on the Klitschko fight too soon in his career and biting off more than he can chew.

While everyone in the boxing world is talking about next week’s heavyweight title unification at Wembley, there is another heavyweight title fight soon on the horizon too.

In a short couple of weeks the UK’s Hughie Fury (cousin to Tyson Fury) will take on WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker from New Zealand.

It will take place in Auckland on May 6th. The same weekend of the Canelo vs Chavez Jr fight.

Hughie is starting as a slight underdog with the bookmakers at present. If he were to spring the win in Parker’s home country a fight against the winner of Joshua vs Klitschko could be realistic.

The main concern for those supporting Joshua going into the Klitschko fight seems to be around his experience level. Compared to the former undisputed champion Klitschko’s that is.

While Joshua is already a world champion, he’s just had 18 professional fights so far. Before that he didn’t have a lot amateur fights considering he became an Olympic Gold medallist.

This is the opposite to Klitschko’s who’s had a long career both amateur and pro. Speaking to IFL TV YouTube here Hughie Fury talks about why Joshua is taking the Klitschko fight too soon:
