Cinco De Mayo Weekend

Canelo Alvarez and Chavez Jr have both had action packed careers up to date. Who’s been more impressive?

Lets take a look at the two Mexican warrior’s greatest moments.

First up, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. He’s often had mixed fortune with his weight being up and down over the years and extended breaks from the sport.

But one thing that can never be levelled at him is that he’s ever involved in exciting fights. His come forward, fan- friendly style has always translated into action for the most part.

Out of 53 professional fights he’s only ever lost twice.

One to Sergio Martinez and the other to Andrzej Fonfara. His professional boxing tenure has been in the US and Mexico to date.

Ahead of the upcoming fight with fellow countryman Canelo Alvarez next month, HBO YouTube (hat tip) have brought out this short video on his greatest hits to date:

Some big body shots and hooks sinking in there.

Standing in front of him on May 6th at the T-Mobile Arena will be Canelo Alvarez. Despite being the younger of the two by five years, Canelo has fought the bigger names and tougher opposition in his career to date.

Bouts with the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Miguel Cotto, Amir Khan, Erislandy Lara, Austin Trout and Shane Mosely evidence of this.

But Chavez Jr is well, well up for this one. His weight is down a long way out from the fight which promises to create some entertaining viewing one suspects.

The folks at HBO YouTube have also brought out a new greatest hits video for Canelo today. Check it out here and see which of the two in your opinion has had the best moments over the years so far:
