Two-weight world champion Carl Frampton rips an online Twitter troll to bits – following a controversial tweet from one user that gathered some momentum against the boxer.
Carl Frampton comes from Belfast in Northern Ireland which has in the past experienced troubles but like his mentor and manager Barry McGuigan did before him, Frampton has been able to unite his community and country in many instances when he fights.
People tune in to watch and support Carl Frampton because of his immense boxing ability and likeable character, not his religious views.
However one Twitter user took offence to a post put out by Frampton with his daughter, where the boxer was wearing a jersey supporting a team to this displeasure of some:

While the tweet gathered some ‘likes’ and ‘re-tweets’ initially, Frampton’s quick witted response today has gathered some serious momentum already in the last hour or so:
For fight fans outside of Ireland not familiar with the above object in Frampton’s picture – it’s called a hurley. A wooden stick used in one of Ireland’s national sports called hurling.
A smack from one of those no doubt would hurt. As would one of Frampton’s fists. One of Ireland’s greatest ever boxers already in the opinion of many.
‘The Jackal’ has been known to indulge Twitter users calling him out from time to time in the past, but this has to be one of his sharpest replies yet.
Frampton last competed in January when he suffered the first loss of his professional boxing career to Mexican world champion Leo Santa Cruz.
Speculation did exist around Frampton fighting Welshman Lee Selby next up in the summer. As of yet no official fight date or opponent has been confirmed.
