Last year in the build-up to Conor McGregor’s UFC match with Nate Diaz the Irish fighter was involved in a well publicized incident.

It involved him throwing a water bottle into the crowd during a pre-fight press conference in Las Vegas at the time.

After the incident McGregor who is heavily linked with inking a boxing match against Floyd Mayweather soon, was issued a $75,000 fine by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

This was later reduced to $25,000 as reported last week however. 25 hours are also to be done of community service either in Dublin, Ireland or in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission are the government body in the United States that regulate both mixed martial arts and professional boxing events in Las Vegas and have confirmed the following information to us today:

“Conor has paid his fine and has not applied for a Nevada State Athletic Commission license in 2017.”

Initially it had been thought that McGregor was less than warm about paying the fine.

But now that he has paid the reduced sum, all signs seem to be pointing in the right direction to a Mayweather vs McGregor boxing match finally happening.

Whether it happens in Vegas though remains to be seen. But if he has now paid his fine there he is free to apply for a pro boxing license in the State we understand.
