Father and trainer of welterweight Danny Garcia fumes at the Golovkin Jacobs decision following Golovkin getting a unanimous points decision in New York.

Earlier this month Angel Garcia and his son Danny travelled to New York to do battle with Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman at the Barclays Centre.

After the fight father and trainer Angel blasted the split decision that Thurman was awarded by the judges in New York.

One that ultimately saw Thurman walk away with the WBC and WBA welterweight world titles.

He has continued his public lashing of New York boxing judges this weekend – following what in his eyes was a terrible Golovkin Jacobs decision last night:

Indeed, the Golovkin Jacobs decision has been viewed as a controversial one in some quarters.

But the reality however was that it was a close fight. One I personally thought Golovkin did enough to win – but a match I’d love to see a part two of.

After the fight Golovkin was very respectful of Jacobs’ effort on the night, as was all of the ‘GGG’ team including coach Abel Sanchez and promoter Tom Loeffler.

They knew going into the fight what they were in for. Most within boxing would have told you the same. Jacobs was legit threat.

Expect to see Danny Jacobs in big world title fights soon again though, as he’s definitely in the top three (at the very least) middleweights on Earth.
